1. Opportunity of the Week

Want to work for BU and boost your CV at the same time? Apply to be a ResLife Resident Assistant for 2017

After a successful first year, we’re recruiting for new Resident Assistants to support the ResLife initiative, which proivides peer to peer support to students living in BU halls and UniLets. As a Residential Assistant you’ll play a really important role in the project, by creating a lively, friendly and supportive community.

This paid opportunity (£9.76 per hour) will provide you with an average of five hours of work a week during term-time. You’ll live in designated BU accommodation throughout your employment, acting as a point of contact for other students, organising events, producing social media content and have knowledge of, and able to signpost other students to, appropriate support services when required.

This opportunity is open to current students continuing their studies in 2017/18, who are organised, proactive and have strong communication and interpersonal skills. It will provide you with the chance to develop personal and professional skills, including: problem-solving, event planning and team building.

There will be a one week training programme before the start of term where you will meet other Resident Assistants, develop your skills, become familiar with BU support services and processes, and start planning activities for the start of term.

To apply, you’ll need to submit your CV, and complete an assessment question and event plan to demonstrate your skills and experiences. For more information about the role and applying, visit our Resident Assistants page.

Closing date is midnight Sunday 18 December 2016.
